There are lot of mental and psychological methods to induce lucid dreams (e.g. reality checks, the Wake Back To Bed Method) but there isn’t a whole lot of information on the neurochemical approach.

Some people fail in their lucid dreaming induction attempts despite the fact that those induction techniques have worked before. The only difference may have been the levels of certain neurotransmitters during REM sleep.

A neurotransmitter is a chemical in the brain that transmits messages from one nerve to another.

Fluctuations in neurotransmitters control our sleep cycle.

The neurotransmitter that seems to have biggest the impact on lucid dreaming is Acetylcholine (ACh).

This process may take some time, but it’s definitely worth it because once you’ve done it,  you will have a powerful tool at your disposal to significantly increase your lucid dream frequency. And that skill will be with you for the rest of your life.
